Mrs. Cordell Edge, CGF delegate for the African American Cultural Garden assembled a design committee. Local branches of National Council of Negro Woman served as sponsoring organizations. Cordell founded the African American Community Support Group that was subsequently renamed The Association of African American Cultural Garden
